HI,
I dragged myself from bed, retched in the toilet and then said a prayer and dialed my parent's. number...They were completely different to how I had imagined! My Mam was shocked and very surprised but asked me the questions I had anticipated (had I told the rheumy? Had I stopped taking my meds? can I have steroid injections? and when is the baby due as they're going on a cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!)....she handed me to Dad who made me cry as I had been SO anxious and he just said simply; 'We're so delighted for you, and if this is what you want then it's wonderful'. He was very touched too that we'd told them first (well, except you!).
Then today at lunch we told the children and oh, what a perfect and beautiful reception! They were so joyful and so excited I cannot begin to explain but the looks on their sweet faces were a picture! Two had tears in their eyes and Samuel kept saying 'our prayers have been answered!'...We explained the seriousness of the pregnancy and they seemed to understand and have spent the remainder of the day asking very sweet, endearing questions...one of the most amusing being by Samuel who said ' one of your eggs must have said hello to God!'...Awwww
I am in bed as I have been so so sick, but wanted to tell you all and thank you again for all the prayers and wonderful support!
Love,
Amanda

I'm so pleased you managed to tell your parents and it went so well.
Get lots of rest now and I hope the sickness passes soon.

Thank you for such lovely sweet replies..
Yes I feel a load lighter now (well, mentally!LOL) and Mark rang my brother last night and he's delighted too although said I was a glutton for punishment! He probably won't have babies now as he's a SERIOUS toyboy! But so so wonderful, I love him to bits, I really do.
Well, I;ve just been very sick and unfortunately was watched by my youngest two as they kept coming in asking if I was okay and I couldn't quite talke to them! ha Oh well, they are looking at creatures of the deep books now and don't seem too fazed by it.
My sickness lasts all the way through, I have never had a reprieve. The symptoms seem even more strong this time but it may just be lack of memory. I was actually sick in every labour too except for my emergency with Patrick.
Oh well! All worth it and anyway the children are so ecstatic I cannot possibly remain down for long!
I think i may write a blog (on here), but have already begun a diary too.
Love,
Amanda

Dearest Amanda,
I'm at home "clucking" away and so pleased your news went down well with your parent's. Nosy person that I am, would love to have been a fly on the wall to have seen the delight in the children's faces when you told them.
Take care of yourself, and do you have any remedies for the morning sickness?
love,
Barbara XXXXX

Sorry to hear about the sickness Amanda, but as you have said, you have had to endure it before. How has the RA reacted. Do you feel any different. Thinking of you.

Wonderful to know that your family have all reacted so positively to your wonderful news, lovely Amanda. Barbara, as you know, has bootees on her mind, and I might just dig out my rusty old knitting needles too!

You're never nosey, lovely Barbara!
Their faces were just perfect bliss! They keep asking the funniest questions ever- I am waiting for the little two to ask 'how does the baby get out?'....LOL Ben asked when he was 3years old and I told him the truth and he howled and howled with laughter and said 'Mammy, you're sooo funny!'.
I feel a bit better regarding RA but really it is very early; prehaps none of the meds worked anyway! ha ha...no really they must have but it does make one wonder!
Love,
Amanda
